Keeble Gateway Academy, Thirsk

Good afternoon Krishna,

Thank you so much for a wonderful RE day.

We were lucky very that Krishna and Indri completed a programme to suit the needs of all our children aged from 3-9. Our children loved learning about all of the wonderful stories Indri had to tell as well as having the opportunity to dance and dress like a Hindu child.

Many thanks,

Katie

Narasingha Jayanti, 4th May 2023

This festival celebrates the appearance of  the fourth of the Dashavatars, the ten main incarnations of Lord Vishnu. He saved the devoted young boy Prahlada from his tyrannical father Hiranyakashipu and thus exemplifies compassion through assertive protection of the weak and vulnerable. The story is connected to the Holi festival and is retold on this day in dramatic fashion. Narasingha is mainly worshipped by Vaishnavas who seek His protection against all evil forces both internal and external.

Sunday, 24th March 2024-Holi

Holi is a religious festival celebrated by Hindus all over the world.  Following Diwali, it is considered the second biggest festival on the Hindu calendar.  Holi is also known as the Festival of Colours due to the playful practice of throwing coloured powders over one another in the streets and open places.

The Holi festival is named after Holika, the aunt of Prince Prahlad, who unsuccessfully attempted to aid her wicked brother Hiranyakashipu by casting the little boy into the flames of a fire.   Students will enjoy discovering this story with its many twists and turns, and its timeless theme of celebrating child protection.

Holi is celebrated all over India, but the celebrations that take place in the region of Braj (near New Delhi), where Lord Krishna appeared and had his pastimes 5000 years ago, are cherished with most affection by many Hindus.

‘At BVP we had a fun-filled, informative and hands on workshop through Hindu Education Services! Both staff and children thoroughly enjoyed being able to explore artefacts and learn about a religion different to their own. Pupils from EYFS all the way to Year 6 learned about the festival of Diwali in an engaging and enthusiastic assembly. We will definitely be booking again!’

Kind regards,

I can positively say that all students and staff thoroughly enjoyed the different sessions, from dancing, listening to stories, meditation and dressing up.  Students were able to talk about what they had learnt about the Hindu faith and the sensory immersion, of the activities, meant that all students were able to participate and learn. Thank you for a wonderful day.

On Friday 14 October 2022, Kirtlington C of E Primary School enjoyed a day of Hindu Workshops provided by Hindu Education Services. It was a fun, educational and informative day and the host, Indri, was friendly, knowledgeable and very entertaining. The interactive workshops brought the children’s learning to life and they enjoyed dressing up, dancing and discovering more about Hinduism.  There was also the opportunity to buy a souvenir diva lamp to remember the day, which most children took advantage of.

Following the class workshops, Indri provided an informative and useful CPD twilight for staff, explaining misconceptions, answering queries and offering the opportunity to buy Hindu teaching resources.

Overall, it was an excellent day with an amazing selection of artefacts. Hindu Education Services were very professional responding quickly to queries and we would definitely use them again and recommend them.

Best wishes

Hi Krishna,

Thank you so much for the visit yesterday. The children thoroughly enjoyed it and we hope that you did too!

Here is what we posted on our Facebook page about the morning, I think it will work as a testimonial too possibly removing some irrelevant bits.

This morning, Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed a cultural experience, learning about and appreciating the religion of Hinduism. The visitor shared many stories about the Hindu deities, allowing some of the children to act as temporary gods. The whole morning was filled with prayer rituals, sharing of Hindu morals and beliefs, as well as a bit of dancing – all including plenty of dressing up as Indian princes and princesses! We were thankful of the experience and the children listened, participated and contributed spectacularly.

Thank you again

Hello Krishna

Thank you for your kind message about the recent workshop on Hinduism that Indri delivered.  It was a fantastic morning, not just for my Year 5 and 6s, but for the whole school.  Indri had everyone transfixed in the morning assembly with facts and stories from the Hindu faith.  He had great energy and established an immediate rapport with children and staff alike.

I would thoroughly recommend your services to other schools.

With thanks and best wishes.
